    Celebrate the ‘special relationship’ by stuffing your face with turkey, marshmallows and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. Head to any of these capital hot-spots for an exemplary all-American feast on November 22…

    Cut at 45 Park Lane, Mayfair

    Cut’s relationship with Americana really comes to the fore at Thanksgiving. The restaurant already has an injection of USA flavour with its successful afternoon tea, CUTcakes & Tea; where mini-burgers and mini-strawberry milkshakes add a touch of the diner to an English tradition, created by Californian-born executive chef David McIntyre. For Thanksgiving, McIntrye has adapted the menu with holiday classics, from fried turkey & buttermilk bisquets with cranberry chutney to wild mushroom tarts with black truffle and maple & bacon macarons, all available from November 12. On Thanksgiving day itself; tuck into a special menu of roast turkey with wild mushroom stuffing and pecan pie served with 10-year-old chocolate sauce and maple ice cream. Wash it all down with American craft beer and cocktails from Bar45.

    The Hero of Maida, Maida Vale

    This stylish north London gastro pub is offering a hearty and homely welcome for Thanksgiving. Their reliance on local produce and independent businesses is in evidence throughout their menu; with turkey from local butcher HG Walter hugged by all the trimmings, including homemade stuffing and sweet potato and marshmallow gratin. The menu has been overseen by head chef Henry Harris, who has also created a one-off Thanksgiving special desert of sweet potato pie and Bourbon cream.

    The Big Easy, Chelsea

    This lively all-American barbecue joint, with sister venues in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf, is a home run for a Thanksgiving feast. The reasonably priced fixed menu is served ‘family style’ and features pit smoked Turkey with cornbread stuffing, the mysteriously titled Grandma Emma’s Spirited apple and cranberry chutney and the rather smug ‘best ever green bean casserole.’ Veggies can delight in the spicy black bean burger and everyone can finish up with traditional pumpkin pie.

    Christopher’s Covent Garden

    This restaurant is as much of Thanksgiving tradition as pilgrims and pumpkin pie. Established in 1991, it has long been regarded as London’s original American restaurant. With such a pedigree, it is little wonder that head chef Francis Agyepong has met expectation with a seismic, seasonal feast that draws from America’s culinary culture and native produce. The waistband-breaking menu includes; Maryland crab cakes, slow-cooked ballotine of organic turkey, with cornbread and Michigan chestnut cherry stuffing, as well as a vegetarian option of sweet potato, scallion and Monterey Jack galette with butter bean casserole and cranberry corn muffin. The bar is even serving up a pumpkin pie martini.

    Red Rooster, Shoreditch

    Add a touch of soul to your Thanksgiving menu at Red Rooster; the London outpost of the iconic Harlem institution. You could eat here any day for some great American meals, which straddle Southern soul food and the diverse culinary influences of its New York original base. However, for Thanksgiving, they’ve outdone themselves. The menu boasts devilled eggs, chicken and pumpkin waffles, bourbon-glazed ham, prime rib with creamed kale and pecan pie, pumpkin pie and chocolate fool. Combine it with the bar’s already groaning selection of bourbons and American beers and you’ve got yourself one hell of a good time.
