Rolex and Sports

    6 December 2016

For almost a century, Rolex has been associated with the quest for excellence inherent in sport. Today, Rolex is present at the most prestigious events in golf, sailing, tennis, motor sport, and at equestrian tournaments. Given the longevity and strength of these relationships, in its sponsorships, Rolex is seen not merely as a sponsor… but also as a partner.

The crown in equestrianism for over 50 years, Rolex is a major force at play, supporting the pinnacle of the sport. From top-level riders to iconic events, Rolex has cultivated a privileged relationship with this elite world.

The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping is a historic new challenge created in 2013 by three of the world’s greatest equestrian shows:
CHIO Aachen, the CSIO Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament and
CHI Geneva. Considered to be the ultimate show jumping test, the
Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping rewards the rider who wins consecutive Grands Prix at each of these three majors.

    CHIO Aachen World Equestrian Festival

It is the ultimate dream for riders; the ultimate spectacle for enthusiasts. It is simply magnetic as they assemble together on hallowed grounds, united by an equal passion. With every masterful jump, elegant piaffe and stunning athletic movement, Aachen epitomizes the equestrian event against which all others are measured.

    Rolex and golf

Since 1967, Rolex has been driven by genuine passion for a sport that embraces tradition and seeks perfection. Rolex is proud to be a leading supporter behind the finest events, players and organizations in golf, encouraging the development of the game worldwide.

A symbol of tradition and prestige. The Masters Tournament, played at Augusta National Golf Club, is the only Major held at the same venue each year. Created in 1934 with an invitation-only policy, the tournament attracts golf’s elite and produces some of the most memorable moments in the history of the game. All of the best-known players of our time have left their mark there, but only one winner leaves with the famous Green Jacket.

    Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth is golf’s newest star and the 2015 PGA Tour Player of the Year. His game, personality and sportsmanship have captivated the world of sport. We eagerly wait to see what he accomplishes next.

Nestled between Lake Geneva and the French Alps, the Evian Championship is as breathtakingly beautiful as it is challenging. Narrow fairways, dense rough and carefully designed greens make the century-old course the perfect stage for the leading showcase in women’s golf, and one of the five Major tournaments. In this serene environment, the world’s best women golfers produce exceptional displays of golfing precision and excellence as they compete for the title.

    Rolex and Motor Sports

Rolex’s history of close ties with motor racing and speed reaches back
to the 1930s. Driven by a passion for performance and precision, Rolex partners the leading motor sports series, Formula 1, iconic endurance
and classic events steeped in tradition.

A Global Partnership with Formula 1®

In early 2013, Rolex became a Global Partner and Official Timepiece of Formula 1, the pinnacle of motor sports. Like Rolex, Formula 1 is present the world over, with 21 races organized in 21 countries across five continents…

Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2016

FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2016 is considered one of the greatest races and the ultimate jewel in the Formula 1 crown. It requires a combination of precision driving and technical excellence and has been a regular fixture since 1955. Winning in Monaco places a driver’s name on a list that includes many all-time racing greats. Among them Rolex Testimonee Sir Jackie Stewart, three-time FIA Formula One Drivers’ World Champion and three-time winner of the 260.286-km Monte-Carlo street circuit.

    Rolex and tennis

The partnership between Rolex and tennis dates back to 1978, when Rolex became the “Official Timekeeper” of The Championships, Wimbledon. This date marks the beginning of a privileged association between two partners driven by the same pursuit of excellence.

Rolex, the world’s leading Swiss watchmaker, is proud to be the Official Timekeeper at The Championships, Wimbledon. For over 30 years, Rolex has played an important role in Wimbledon’s history. As time passes, history is made; champions are born.

And so it begins. Another year. Another clean slate. As the first Grand Slam® of the year, the Australian Open always holds a special place in our hearts. Hence, its alias: “the Happy Slam”, coined by Roger Federer. It is a celebration. It is, without question, tennis at its very finest.

    Rolex and Yachting

Yacht racing is a test of will and wit in which crucial decisions are made with split-second precision. Preparation is rigorous and team spirit is paramount. Rolex has forged a privileged relationship with prestigious regattas as well as exciting yachtsmen and women, sharing the values inherent in every sailor.

628 sleepless miles. The crew have no time for rest. The end of each day heralds the same mantra: just make it through the night unscathed. Iron-willed, and hardened by wind and waves, they battle the black, undulating expanse. These men were made for the sea.

Sailing has an elegance that difficult, harsh conditions cannot obscure. Along the Sardinian coastline, commanding yachts cut through the Mediterranean with agility and apparent ease. But the tranquil scene belies this event, for it’s a competition where the crews are out to win.
