    Out & About

    21 June 2014
    OUT-1

    1. Fera, Mayfair
Fera, designed by Guy Oliver, is Claridge’s star vehicle for Michelin-starred Simon Rogan. The name means ‘wild’ and this is reflected in the cooking, which prizes seasonality above all else.

    OUT-and-about-2

    2. Library Members’ Club, St Martin’s Lane
This new private members’ club has a double mezzanine, a fireplace, a stage and a bar for the capital’s ‘eclectic literary community’.

    OUT-3

    3. Rusty Nail, Mayfair
With a capacity of only 80, this new venue promises to be even more exclusive than its recently renovated sister bar Whisky Mist. It’s designed to resemble a whisky cellar in a castle, which doesn’t sound loopy at all.

    OUT-4

    4. Pavilion, Kensington
Go for house-baked breads and pastries, cheeses and meats from the deli counter, even bouquets of flowers — but best of all, go for the ‘three-martini-lunch’ cocktail (served all day) and chef Adam Simmonds’s light but intensely flavoured seasonal British food.

    OUT-5

    5. Chicken Shop/Dirty Burger, Whitechapel
London’s appetite for posh junk food shows no sign of being sated and Soho House is doing the sensible thing and putting Dirty Burger and Chicken Shop under one East End roof.
