In association with Ardingly College
At Ardingly College, our success speaks for itself. Not only through our students’ high academic achievement, but through our endeavours to instil ambition in our students with far-reaching goals. We seek to prepare them for life beyond school in a competitive world. We offer a curriculum that gives both breadth and depth, and we provide the environment and the opportunities for young people to find and build on their strengths. Ardingly College is an inspiring and engaging school, both on paper and in practice.
Students thrive academically and pastorally at Ardingly College
Once again our students performed outstandingly in the recent A level examinations, with a jump in A*s from 18 per cent in 2019 to 35 per cent in 2020. It’s a truly excellent achievement, building on the award from ALPS in 2019 that declared Ardingly College to be in the top 2 per cent nationally for A levels.
Shooting for the moon
We aim for all of our students to achieve academic excellence. For many, this leads to top grades and admission to leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Warwick and Exeter. There are many ways to stand out from the crowd, from articulate debating skills to creative problem-solving and team leadership. Everyone is valued for the contribution they make to their class, their house, and to the college as a whole.
Ardingly College is a British school with a global outlook. The curriculum is both national and international, with A levels and IB on offer; and the diversity of the student body prepares students to engage culturally with the wider world — to be World Ready.
Our campus in West Sussex is set in 230 acres of outstanding natural beauty, with teaching and boarding facilities of the highest standard. Many improvements to our buildings and facilities have been made in the last five years, most notably with a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning centre; a new music centre with a recording studio and dedicated percussion room; and the recent reopening of our science, design and technology building following a £5 million refurbishment. Plans are in place to build a new performing arts centre and a new dance studio on campus.
New girls’ day house open September 2020
Due to the increased number of girls attending Ardingly College, we are delighted to announce that our brand-new Burgess girls’ day house has opened, aptly named after Ardingly’s first female teacher, Mrs Archie Burgess. Stylishly designed with modern furniture, the shared common room is spacious and bright, with big windows looking out over the Sussex countryside. Also included in the house are smaller study rooms where the girls can log on with their surface pros and focus on their work.
