Oscars 2018: full list of winners

Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water was named best picture at the Academy Awards ceremony

The Shape of Water was named best picture at the 90th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday night. The film, about a mute woman who falls in love with a mysterious sea creature, also won the Oscar for best director for Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.

The best picture prize was announced by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, who famously announced the wrong winner of the same category at last year’s ceremony (naming La La Land the winning film instead of Moonlight).

On the night, Gary Oldman was named best actor for his turn as Churchill in Darkest Hour and Frances McDormand won the best actress prize for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. When accepting her award, McDormand called on the women nominated in all categories to stand, in reference to the #MeToo campaign,

There were also wins for Pixar’s Coco, which was named best animated film, and Icarus, which won the best documentary prize. The legendary British cinematographer Roger Deakins finally won an Oscar at the 14th attempt, winning the best cinematography award for Blade Runner 2049. See below for the full list of winners.
