Murder on the Orient Express

An all star cast assembles for this new version of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunnit. Kenneth Branagh directs, as well as stars as Poirot – with an extraordinary take on the Belgian detective’s moustache. Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Judi Dench are also along for the ride. Out on November 3.

Paddington 2

After a fantastic first cinematic outing, everyone’s favourite bear from darkest Peru returns for a sequel that’s already met with some very positive reviews. Paddington is on a mission to buy the perfect birthday present for his Aunt Lucy, but a dastardly villain played by Hugh Grant is out to stop him. Out on November 10.

The Florida Project

Sean Baker’s previous film was the well-received, Tangerine, which was shot entirely on iPhones. His follow-up, The Florida Project, was filmed more conventionally and is set in a run-down motel close to Disney World. The film stars Willem Dafoe as the kindly manager of the place, but it’s newcomer Brooklynn Prince who steals the show as a precocious kid trying to make the best of a terrible family situation. Out on November 10.

Mudbound

Based on a novel Hillary Jordan, this period drama tells the story of two young men – one white, one black – readjusting to life in rural Mississippi following World War II. As well as being released in cinemas, the film will also be available to stream on Netflix. Out on November 17.

Justice League

The latest superhero film from the DC Comics universe unites Ben Affleck’s Batman with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Acquaman (Jason Momoa) and Flash (Ezra Miller). But will Superman be resurrected following his untimely demise in Batman vs Superman? The answer will almost certainly be yes. Out on November 17.

Battle of the Sexes

After Borg McEnroe, another real life tennis tale is served up in the shape of this dramatisation of the match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King. Steve Carell plays Riggs, with Emma Stone portraying his adversary on the other side of the net. Out on November 24.
