Michelin Guide 2018: new stars announced

17 restaurants are newly-awarded one Michelin star, while 14 restaurants have had their stars removed

The 2018 Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland has been launched with an event in London at which it was announced that sushi restaurant The Araki, in Regent Street, has been awarded three Michelin stars.

Bibendum, in Chelsea, was awarded two stars while among those restaurants awarded a single star are The Clock House in Surrey, The Coach in Marlow (run by Tom Kerridge) and Loch Bay in the Isle of Skye. Meanwhile, 14 restaurants, including The Wild Rabbit in Oxfordshire and the Treby Arms in Devon, have had stars removed, mainly due to a change of chef.

Meanwhile, Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck and Alain Roux’s Waterside Inn, both in Bray, Berkshire, Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea have all retained their three-star rating in the new guide.
