Ransome’s Dock Farmers’ Market, London
This summer London Farmer’s Markets have teamed up with Gladwin Bros to launch Ransome’s Market in Battersea. Londoners won’t have to step out of the city to enjoy the best of the countryside and will be able to buy a load of fresh produce, in support of independent farms. The market even hosts a ‘Farmers’ Market Sweep’ and expect to be given recipe cards for inspiration. Hosted every Saturday.
Malton Food Market, Yorkshire
Malton’s farmers’ market is filled with stalls selling fresh fruit, oyster stews and much more besides, all to the sound of live music. Endless free samples of gin and cheese will be on offer while you make your way through the market. Celebrity chefs and food experts, including Levi Roots and Prue Leith, have previously made appearances, so check out the upcoming line-up here. Hosted every second Saturday of the month.
Ely Market Place, Cambridgeshire
This market showcases the best produce Cambridgeshire has to offer, with stalls selling everything from venison to fresh cut flowers. Ely marketplace only sells local goods and ethically-produced meats and cheeses. The market even has a specialised ‘vegan alley’ that sells an array of food, including vegan cashew cheese and Scotch eggs. Free parking nearby makes visitng a doddle. Hosted every second Saturday of the month.
Altrincham Market, Manchester
This covered market prides itself on hosting independent stalls that sell produce that simply isn’t available anywhere else. The food includes Welsh black beef, Cheshire-grown fruit, and home-made preserves. There is also a wood-fired pizza stall, an artisan pie maker and reserve wines. Each month the market puts on a different workshop and also has a recycling centre. Hosted every first Friday of the month.
