Fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar held its annual Women of the Year Awards at Claridge’s on Monday evening with Hollywood stars Keira Knightly and Emma Watson both picking up prizes. Knightley won the Theatre Icon prize for her recent performances in The Children’s Hour and, most recently, Thérèse Raquin on Broadway, while Watson received an Inspiration award for her work as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.
Vanessa Redgrave was named British Icon and Olympic cyclist Laura Trott was give the Woman of the Year award for her gold-medal winning achievements at Rio 2016. Gillian Anderson, star of The Fall, won the Television Icon award while fellow actor Olivia Colman, recently in sitcom Fleabag, won the Outstanding Performance award. Donatella Versace was named Fashion Icon, while Stella Tennant was recognised with an award for Contribution to British Fashion.
Winners wore diamond jewellery by Nirav Modi, while all and sundry celebrated by quaffing Laurent-Perrier champagne throughout the evening.
