Jeremy Corbyn at London Fashion Week

With London Fashion Week drawing to a close, clothes horses and socialites gathered at Loulou’s for Love Magazine’s fashion week party. As the Delevingne clan assembled for a family reunion in the corner with model sisters Cara and Poppy dining with parents Charles and Pandora, Edie Campbell and Erin O’Connor won points for wearing the most eye-catching ensembles. Going against the grain at the Miu Miu-sponsored bash, Harry Styles arrived in an eye-catching Gucci suit. Alas, the One Direction star wasn’t enough to capture the attention of the room and another man of the moment soon becoming the talk of the party. Step forward Jeremy Corbyn.

The Labour leader wasn’t actually present at the high fashion bash, but Miss S caught up with the celebrated milliner Stephen Jones, who has an OBE for services to the fashion industry, over a glass of champagne and he confided that he was considering designing something for Jeremy Corbyn.

Milliner Stephen Jones

‘I would not be opposed to creating a piece for Mr Corbyn,’ he said. ‘I think all men should wear more hats.’ Would the creation be a step up from Corbyn’s trademark black Leninist cap?

‘It would be more discreet than some of my other work. But you have to be when it comes to politicians. Something nice and civilised,’ Jones replied.

With Corbyn’s shabby dress sense facing increasing criticism on all sides, Miss Steerpike hopes he will take up Jones’s offer.
